The Portland Development Commission has chosen Northwest Demolition & Dismantling of Tigard as the construction manager/general contractor for demolition and salvage work at Centennial Mills Northwest Portland.
Northwest Demolition was one of six firms trying for the contract in late December.
PDC is negotiating with Harsch Investment Properties of Portland on the development agreement for the 105-year-old Centennial Mills property. The project could involve tearing down parts of the old mill and redeveloping the entire site.
PDC and Northwest Demolition & Dismantling are working on a plan to minimize the impacts on Pearl District neighbors.
“This is a challenging project and I am confident our team can complete the selective demolition in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner,” said Northwest Demolition & Dismantling Vice President Richard Wayper. “We’re very eager to get to work.”
