Building damaged during demolition
Recent demolition on Fifth Street inflicted minor damage to a neighboring building, according to the Lynchburg, VA Redevelopment & Housing Authority.
Unexpected conditions resulted in construction crews cracking one of the brick walls of a circa-1930s building at 709 Fifth St.
The housing authority owns most of the properties along that block. In May, it elected to raze two of the more dilapidated structures there in hopes of increasing the area
