After sitting vacant for a decade, Memorial Auditorium could be torn down to make way for the proposed Bass Pro retail outlet. The Buffalo News reports that a study shows the cost of renovating the Aud for Bass Pro would surpass that of demolition and construction of a new building. An unnamed source told the paper that in light of this new proposal, a contract with Bass pro could be signed in weeks, possibly days. Bass Pro announced plans to open a store in Buffalo two years ago, but has not yet made a binding commitment.
