According to a release from the office of Mayor Mike Bell of Toledo, OH, the final stages of remediation for the marina district are slated to take place on Friday, May 13 with the implosion of the Boiler No. 16 building.
Demolition of the boiler building will clear the way for redevelopment on the site.
Residents in the surrounding area may hear explosive sounds associated with the demolition during the scheduled work hours. Officials from the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department, Toledo Police Department, Toledo Division of Environmental Services and U.S. Coast Guard will be on hand to monitor the planned demolition activity.
Demolition crews are expected to begin work between 9 a.m. and noon. Traffic on nearby streets as well as on the river will impact the start time. Further details of a start time will be available on the morning of May 13.
