Police say three Indonesian workers have died and four others are missing after part of a mall they were demolishing collapsed in Malaysia.District police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed says five stories of the mall in Petaling Jaya caved in Thursday. Petaling Jaya is a town next to the biggest city, Kuala Lumpur.
Mohamed says authorities have pulled three bodies from the rubble. Four more Indonesian workers are believed to be trapped. Two others were hospitalized with injuries.
Arjunaidi said Friday rescue efforts were slow because of fears that the rest of the building may collapse.
The mall closed more than a year ago and authorities are still investigating the cause of the collapse.
