I would think you will see similar stories around here, but I started out in the field as laborer pushing dump carts and worked my way up.
I would see if you can get your son into some type apprenticeship with a local demolition contractor in the next couple of years.
Tell him good luck and we will still be here if you need anything else.

The National Association of Demolition Contractors (NADC) has sponsored numerous courses. Most recently Purdue has opened an engineering major specializing in demolition.
In my case I have a 4-year degree from RPI in Troy NY in civil eng and a MS in Structural. In the summers I ran heavy equipment and met people in this industry. I made my way to the office after graduation to become head of estimating, project management and business development for my company.

Hello everyone! I'm actually looking for career advice for my fourteen year old son. He expressed interest in the field of demolition and can't seem to find a training course for it. I'm searing out the best way for him to get into the field. He likes to "take apart" or deconstrust things. I know he may change his mind but we would still like to at least look into this. How do you get training for this line of work? Any help would be appreciated.
