Nukeworker,

There has been an ongoing debate between myself and a couple of co-workers about the best method to remove these. Some are saying it is better to individually remove each tile and save on extra cleanup, others are saying to yank them down with a skidsteer. Let's assume they are not being recycled.

What are your thoughts on this?

Anyone been able to recycle fiberglass tiles?

Which ones? With the foil backing? If not and the insulation can be easily removed, Armstrong will also take them, but they have to be the Armstrong brand.

Nukeworker,

Thanks for the heads up on making the job easier to handle.

We placed the bid on Friday so we'll find out something this week.

Armstrong will take anyones tiles. I spoke to someone a few months ago when putting a bid in for 55,000 sq feet. They require someone to come out and make sure its a tile they will take and be able to recycle so contact them first. They told me a trailer will hold almost 45,000 sq feet if I remember.

Don't they take back Armstrong brand tiles only? I thought I remember looking at doing a large project and they stated they would only take back their own brand.

We are putting in a bid on removing 250,000 sq ft of suspended ceiling tile out of a warehouse. Is there any market for this material to be recycled.
