Demolition of Two Small Structures at Marcell Research Center

The USDA Forest Service intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the complete demolition of two buildings located at the Marcell Research Center, Bovey, MN 55709. Work also includes restoration of disturbed ground. Specific work includes but is not limited to the following: Demolish and haul away the following: Old Marcell Field Laboratory – 1,050 square foot lab and bunk house….a one-story wood frame structure with no basement, sitting on a 4” WWF-reinforced concrete slab with 5’x 16” footings and a 2’ high perimeter foundation wall; space includes lab, bunk room, kitchen, closet, bath, utility room and office. Exterior is wood siding, with an asphalt shingle roof. Marcell Generator Shed – 96 square foot wooden building on a concrete slab, formerly used for storage and as a generator shed. Concrete slabs, sidewalks, and buried utility service lines. Sidewalk near the Garage is to be removed, also. Water well – abandon infill and cap per state regulations. Any appliances, furniture, etc. remaining in these two buildings shall also be removed and disposed of. Restore site to virgin condition, including but not limited to grading to level, seeding native grasses, and mulching. The solicitation will be posted to http://www.fbo.gov on or about May 6, 2010. Those contractors not downloading the solicitation from this website shall e-mail: mparlett [at] fs.fed.us for a copy. Once the solicitation is issued all questions on the project are to be in writing and e-mailed to mparlett [at] fs.fed.us at least 2 weeks prior to the due date. Proposals will be due on or about June 7, 2010 at 3:00 pm EST. Should the solicitation issue date be delayed, then the proposal due date will be 30 days from issue date. This is a total set aside for small business.
