Welcome Rich.

As I was reading all the weather comments I was noting that it is projected to be in triple digits here in Phoenix for the next week.

I'll be heading North to the mountains this weekend to drop 20 degrees or so.

Our branch in Orange County likes to rub it in as well when it comes to weather.

Rich:

You should go to the East Coast and try some demo there. Get on some jobs in NYC and that would be real fun for you. They use some different types of equipment for jobs too, so you would have a blast.

Although the beach scenery and beach bunnies prolly not as good as SoCal, man.

Rich,

Hello and welcome. I have always wondered about what it's like on the westcoast. Congrats on the 10 years!

Your on Paul! ;)

Sounds like a deal. I like the taller, more strategic demolition projects that are a challenge.

We do have it pretty good out here in CA with the weather (the gals ain't too bad either) (my wife just threw a shoe at me).. :o

The east coast seems to be an awesome place too for all sorts of stuff, and demo! It appears that there is a lot more cool large scale demo in your neck of the woods than out here (I should be careful what I am saying... one 8.5 earth quake and that could change in 20 seconds) Surprised

We dont seem to have companies like Testa out here.. Cleveland Wrecking is out here amongst some other large ones (CST, etc..) , but the many of the cool demo's I see seem to be from the east coast or down south..

You get a good demo in NJ, I am down to trade ya.:yesway:

Haha... Joe Millionaire (aka Evan Marriott)... Yup.. You're right. Blast from the past indeed. Evan was working for us for about eight months part-time, operating track loaders and excavators when all of a sudden (after meeting someone from Fox Tv at a party in Los Angeles one Friday evening) he was offered a position on the reality show.

After finding out that they wanted to do an intro to every show with what he did for a living, I figured a little exposure wouldn't hurt.. I never thought that 40 + million were gonna see it once the first couple of shows proved to be attention-getters!!. ;) I remember the first night the show aired, I was stunned! My phone blew of the hook with employees, family, my Cat salesman, etc.. Saying holy sh*%!!! Unreal. I was giggling as I just had a real big logo installed on the 963 track loader (just in case they did show the machine)..

Evan still lives somewhere in Orange County and I believe he is in the dirt business. We lost touch after the show as he traveled a lot for the after math and was pretty busy for a long time with TV and interviews. Must have been an interesting ride to say the least... (not too bad either hanging out with 50+ woman from all the world while BS'ing all of them in France.. ;)

Funny you should mention. Thanks for asking. I hope the general contractors and developers that we work for don't think of that dang show when they see our name..

;)

Hey, Rich:

Welcome to the forum. I've heard of your company. Didn't you have Joe somebody, famous on TV working as a demo laborer in your firm. Who was that??

Hello All,

My name is Rich Holt and I am new to this forum. I am glad to find a place like this. I have enjoyed looking at many threads, pics and discussions.

We are a small demolition and grading company from Orange County, Southern Salifornia. Our ten year milestone is coming up in March of 2010.
I have 25-30 full time employees and work primarily from Los Angeles to San Diego.

I get a kick out of seeing how different machines and techniques are used in different parts of the country. I wish California had some more multi-level buildings and towers to demo like the east coast seems to have.

We are in the process of updating our web page, so please forgive me for some missing info. It will be completed soon.

I look forward to getting to know some of you in the future.

Thanks for having me.

Rich Holt
