Scantibodies Laboratory, Inc is seeking a Facilities Technician to assist and support the Facilities/Maintenance Department by performing routine mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting and other maintenance work in a safe, timely manner. The Facilities Technician will assist the maintenance personnel in maximizing the availability of all company assembly, production, facility, and packaging equipment.
Job duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, adjusting, painting, sheet rocking, modifying and restoring, equipment and facilities, and other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Clerical duties will be conducted in accordance with Scantibodies EOP’s and SOP’s. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for updating assigned work orders as required and recording repair and maintenance activities in the appropriate files and reports. The usage of spare parts and supplies are to be reported to help keep an adequate supply of critical items.
Under supervision, the Facilities Technician will provide assistance in repair and maintenance of the following systems to include, but not limited to: air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, compressed gases, landscape maintenance, vacuum systems and pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, structural, welding, building construction, lighting, test equipment and meters.
Additional tasks will include assisting senior technicians on centrifuges, mixers, purification systems, telecommunications systems, pouching machines, box tapers, printers, plastic sealing machines, heat tunnels, conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, industrial wiring and power distribution systems, dehumidifiers, filters, and other equipment and systems as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
The Facilities Technician will maintain a neat, clean and organized work area. This individual will work with all departments as assigned with courtesy and enthusiasm to promote an ever-improving safe working environment for all employees.
Provides assistance with routine maintenance activities to minimize equipment down time to help the company meet production and shipping schedules.
Assist with new construction, re-model, demolition and facility enhancement efforts.
Responsible for the routine changing of air conditioning filters and logging the changes.
Must be able to lift 70 lbs regularly and up to 90 lbs on occasion.
Any other related duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent required.
General facility maintenance experience desirable, but not a requirement.
Ability to comprehend, read, write and speak the English language.
Motivation and flexibility to learn new skills while providing assistance to the Maintenance Personnel in the areas of facility plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration, framing, drywall hanging and repair, minor flooring installation, and lighting.
Ability to interact tactfully and courteously with SLI Department Supervisors and Personnel.
