Department Manager I
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION - This position will lead JT3's Maintenance and Logistics Department at Edwards AFB, CA. Must have demonstrated success with the leadership of a large maintenance organization. The candidate must be skilled with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo and Integrated Logistics System functions for work scheduling, metrics generation & analysis and in developing custom reports. The position will require experience with task planning, monitoring & control for effective cross utilization of resources. Must have the ability to develop and manage task budgets, assess proper staffing levels and adjust staffing based on requirements. The ability to plan preventative maintenance inspections (PMI), corrective maintenance actions and apply efficiencies such as predictive/conditioned-based maintenance, equipment/systems failure analysis with replacement recommendations is required. Candidate must be proactive with excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills in order to conduct briefings to government and internal senior management. Knowledge of USAF quality practices, FOD control, tool control, safety practices and government flight regulation (GFR) for ground operations is desired. Project Management experience along with knowledge and application of maintenance and logistics process improvement initiatives such as mobile technologies and radio frequency identification (RFID) are also highly desirable. Other highly desired knowledge and experience includes: managing facility projects encompassing construction, repair and/or demolition in coordination with local Civil Engineering organization; managing, recruiting and motivating associate skilled trades workforce; working knowledge of local, county, state and federal building and abatement codes; and relevant experience coordinating major facility projects, upgrades and/or overseeing vendors and contractors performing such efforts. A Department of Defense Security Clearance is required.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or equivalent formal academic or technical training and experience, and possess an in-depth knowledge of the principles of advanced management obtained through formal or self-study. Understands the operational philosophy and business nature of the company. Must be familiar with computer based management tools. Must have an in-depth working knowledge of related career fields such as technical trades or scientific and engineering professions and possess 10 years' experience in one of the related fields. Experience is to include 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role. Must possess a valid state issued driver's license, Must have and maintain an active Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
