Demolition has recently started on the last building standing amid the fire-ravaged site of the historic McClung warehouses in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee.

The McClung Warehouses originally caught fire in 2007 that left them in ruins. The buildings have been without power since the 2007 fire. That fire destroyed two buildings, neither of which were rebuilt. 4 firefighters were injured in that fire.

Standing 6 stories on one side, and eight stories tall on the one. The building is one of the biggest standing buildings to be demolished in downtown Knoxville history.

The demolition of the building was a necessity. The building suffered roof damage due to fire on February 1st 2014 and extensive water damage from fire-hoses, which was has now become even more dangerous due to the recent freezing temperatures which could cause more damage and/or a possible collapse.

JW Demolition is doing the demolition.
