The collapse happened about 3 p.m. Thursday August 14th. The house is located about 12 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
Police Sgt. David G. Martinez said that three men were trapped in the wreckage. He said one of the men was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial in critical condition but was stabilized after arrival. The owner of the house, who was helping with the demolition, initially refused treatment but was later taken to a hospital.
Fire Chief Juan Jimenez says the men removed most of the walls of the dilapidated wooden house when it toppled on them.
From what we know as of today, there was no demolition company on site. Only some buddies demolishing the house. We are still verifying everything.
