Final Pieces of Marble Falls Bridge Imploded

Published by on

The final pieces of the old U.S. 281 bridge in Marble Falls were reduced to rubble April 5.

The explosive demolition of the remaining two piers from the structure shot water above the deck of the new span a little after 2 p.m.

There were no immediate reports of damage to surrounding structures as occurred when the old bridge itself was imploded March 17, raining debris on nearby buildings, severing communications lines, and snarling traffic for more than two hours.
